Chloe: Real CB Bride

When planning for your wedding, what was important to you?

My experience wedding dress shopping was eventful to say the least. My fiancé proposed right before we left Europe, so I only had 2 weeks to wedding dress shop with my close friends and mother.

It was important to me that I experience this part with them before distance separated us during the wedding planning process. It still felt a bit early to purchase a dress, so I decided to shop again once I was properly settled in Melbourne.

How was Carte Blanche Bride different to your other appointments?

Carte Blanche was the obvious choice as Anastasia had such a beautiful collection of all the French designers that I previously knew, and I really gravitated towards the style of her dresses. I decided to lock in two appointments, one with a bridal shop on the High Street, and one with Carte Blanche. Although I had a lovely time at both, Carte Blanche really stood out to me. My friends and I adored her showroom, its beautifully decorated and felt so elegant, and we were spoilt with bubbles and delicious sweet treats.

Anastasia was very helpful, kind and patient, listening to what I was looking for, but also suggesting different models I hadn’t considered initially.

Anastasia also assisted with accessories, she has gorgeous head pieces and jewellery that you can't find anywhere else in Melbourne. It really helped to pull the whole look together.

Share something you learned during the wedding shopping process?

If I have one tip to share for those heading into the hectic world of wedding dress shopping, make sure you stay open-minded and try on different styles – might as well take the opportunity to try on all these amazing creations if you have the opportunity.

What look did you choose and why?

Funnily enough, I ended up choosing the Premiere du Monde by Donatelle Godart, a model that was very different to what I previously had in mind. I had always wanted a chic but comfortable dress, but had only tried on a certain style which was more slinky and minimal.

Seeing as many French brides back home tend to opt for lace dresses, I had a desire to change it up with a more minimal style. What I loved about Premiere du Monde is how the dress adds a touch of classic with the embroidered tulle and lace detail, but in a different way.

Elegance with a twist!
